Picking Up Speed

Our team picks up speed as we are well into our course and have a much clearer vision of where we need to go.

During this meeting our CoP met with our instructor to discuss possibilities for the SCC Conference. Then, we put together a projected outline and began to work to arrange our guests.

  • Panel Guests:

    • Dr. Madan, RRU

  • Jennifer Arp, RRU

  • Alice, SFU

Presentation

  • Open dialogue / panel / town hall

  • A natural conversation

  • Background of the focus should be on your CoP in general

    • How has our CoP brought forward these discoveries

  • Consider interview style or video style if our SMEs cannot attend

How is communication facilitating this ethical issue

  • What is the role of communication in this ethical issue

Breakout Room

  • Up to 45 minutes

  • Capping each room at 25-30 students

  • Offer some context, come out w/ a case study, ask questions

  • Don’t have to give new info other than in presentation

  • We are just facilitating this → put them in breakout rooms

  • Have one person from CoP in each breakout room

    • Ensure flow is there

    • If conversation stagnates, you are there to prompt a question and keep the convo going

  • Give one case study, ask them to discuss OR give different case studies

Assignment 4

  • A projection of what is to come

  • Incorporate learnings from conference into this assignment

  • No word count -- keep it tight, engaging, presentable

  • Include graphics, pictures, branding

Presentation Prep

  • Talk about CoPs journey

  • What did we discover

  • Write questions to ask SMEs during presentation in the two ethical issues we are addressing (accessibility to information and how the rollout was decided)

    • Karen and Robyn - How did they determine the priorities/who gets the vaccine first

    • Matt and Steph - Accessibility to information
